About us

Sharp Tack Productions was formed in 1988 as a specialist touring theatre company devoted to the delivery of mathematics based live theatre-in-education performances in schools.

Our aim was to offer teachers and pupils something entertaining, informative and 'a little bit different' in education. Using the theatrical devices of drama, humour, character and narrative we sought to bring maths themes and concepts to life, and to show the many varied uses of mathematics in the 'real world'.

We have since moved from maths education to a broader subject range and have supplemented our theatre performances with a selection of educational videos to enable our work to be seen by larger audiences worldwide.

Since 1988 our performances and videos have been seen by over 200,000 students in close to 1000 schools worldwide, as well as at teacher conferences, seminars, teacher education colleges and awards nights. Our recent video Maths and Football (or Maths and Soccer, depending on where you live), was seen by 50,000 students spread across Australia, the UK, USA, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

All our productions and the accompanying worksheets are scripted and produced paying careful attention to local and national curriculums to ensure they will be suitable for the regions in which they will be seen and used.
